The First Supper – Available Now!

The new Tigers and Devils short "The First Supper" has now gone live on Amazon.

Tiger Short-Last Supper

Meeting the parents is never easy.

Set during the timeline of
"Tigers and Devils" this short story finds Simon Murray in the midst of a
panic attack as both his and Declan Tyler's parents face each other for
the first time.

The way Simon's acting, it's bound to be a disaster…

Now, as I said before, it is available on the Kindle for $0.99, but you can also download it here for nada!  Yes, that's right, zippo!

Hope you enjoy it.

Put on Your Shorts

There will be a new Tigers and Devils short coming soon.  It is scheduled to publish on the 21st at Amazon, where it will be available for the minimum rate of 0.99 cents.

This is not a scam so I can buy an extra pudding for Christmas Day.  It will also be released as a PDF for free both on my journal and my website at the same time.  So you can get it there at no cost!  And that would be the better option for you, yes?  Regardless of what Simon reckons.

Entitled "The First Supper", it takes place before Simon and Declan's first Christmas, and just after Dec's dad is released from hospital.  It is a momentous occassion, where the Tyler and Murray parental units meet for the first time…

As Miranda's mother would say, SUCH FUN!

It’s Summer, so it’s time for Shorts

Yeah yeah yeah, I know you lucky people in the northern hemisphere get to have a thing called a White Christmas, but we're not so lucky here in Oz.  Christmas will be sweating into your roast vegies, and doggedly having your christmas pudding and custard despite the fact that you're going to die of heatstroke.

Anyway, I have been playing around with formatting so I can upload my short stories to different formats, and I have posted my Tigers and Devils short "Chicken Soup for the Soul, and All That Crap" to Amazon for the kindle.  Because you can't set the price at zero, it has to be at the minimum of $0.99.  This is not a scam on my behalf, as the original version will always be available on my website for zilch.  The story hasn't been altered in any way.

Anyhoo, I'll have a bit of news in a couple of days.  If you're so inclined, you can get the story for the kindle here.  It already has a one star review! HOW COULD YOU REFUSE?

New Release

Hey everybody!

The Curious anthology is now available for sale at Dreamspinner:

It contains my story “Bad News Brett”, where

although opposites attract, it’s always good to take an interest in your other half’s passions. That’s why Brett finds himself in a batting cage when his only knowledge of baseball comes from Peanuts cartoons and a late-night rerun of The Bad News Bears. Luckily his partner Tex believes in a hands-on approach to working on Bret’s stance…

The anthology also contains my good friends Catt Ford, M. Jules Aedin and AJ Linden among many other fine colleagues at the DSP stable.

I need a new word for ‘update’.

A short story that I wrote and submitted so long ago that I almost forgot it existed, “Bad News Brett”, will be coming out in the Dreamspinner Curious anthology on April 26:

Aren’t you just a little curious? What is it about gay male romance that turns female readers on? The truth is that women love romance and sexy men. When it’s a story about two men falling in love, there’s twice the attraction. We’ve chosen stories that run the gamut of M/M romantic fiction: from initial curiosity to the first blush of love, from awkward first times to finding fulfillment, and from heart-warming forever devotion to hot and sweaty sex. Think of it as a romance buffet: take a little bit, try a little dab, and find the flavor of M/M romance that satisfies you.

“Bad News Brett” falls into the ‘heart-warming forever devotion’ part, but I need to re-read it to produce a blurb. Which I’m not looking forward to, because I suck at blurbs. There is a batting cage and a slight injury and loss of pride, from what I remember.

And in other news, my steampunk novel, Wings of Equity, has just been accepted by Dreamspinner and I sent the contract back yesterday. So far we’re looking at a July release. Blurb coming soon for that as well!

And now it’s time to stress about getting back to writing so there will be other stuff to release once this lot is out!

A Christmas without white Tim Tams?

My latest short story, “An Australian Christmas in New York”, is now available at Dreamspinner.

You can buy it here.

Vince has been living in New York for the past four years with his partner Chuck, but as Christmas approaches, Vince finds himself missing the weather, smells, and other traditions of the Australian holiday. With Chuck being a little distracted, Vince is feeling sorry for himself, until the day itself arrives….

Stay tuned as well, because I will soon be giving out a bonus little giftie for you all for Christmas. How secretive!

New Short Story Released

“Two Steps Up” was released by Dreamspinner Press today.

Russ is stuck. He wants to cross the street and enter the building–it looks innocent enough, except for the rainbow flag that hangs from the top of the doorframe. But when Brian shows up and puts him at ease, Russ has the motivation he needs to take those two steps up…

I think it’s actually quite a nice little story. I might talk a little more about its inspiration in a later post.

You can buy it here.

Free Fiction!

As I said elsewhere, I got myself involved in a scamfun activity where I had to write a story for the readers of Kris’n’GoodBooks which had to involve a road trip, a drag queen, a thick mat of hair, the tattoo of a former boyfriend, olive oil, and the names Orville and Ulrich.

In case you didn’t read what came to be known as “Drive Safe” at Kris’, you can now download it from here.

Hope it gives you a laugh.

Ports of Call

My latest short story, Ports of Call, is now available at Dreamspinner in eBook format. You can buy it here, if you’re so inclined!

Jason brought Pete to the ocean to recover from a mugging, but while the physical marks have faded, the emotional wounds aren’t as quick to heal. Escaping to their own private world where the biggest challenge is catching the perfect wave, they both know they can’t hide from the rest of the world forever. Sometimes it is just time to go home.

It’s all starting to seem a bit more real now, and I’m feeling more ramped up about the release of my novel later on in the year.
